“Cultural Competency / Humility Training”
The NonProfit Council is aware that many of our local human service providers offer a variety of programs for the Latino community. This training is being co-hosted by The Self Family Foundation and Community Initiatives for staff to learn more about the Latino community. This important cultural competency / humility training will offer an awareness of the skills needed to aid service providers.
The mission of PASOs (word means “steps” in Spanish) is to help build a stronger South Carolina by supporting Latino communities with education, advocacy, and leadership development. PASOs in Saluda and Greenwood Counties began in 2009 through a partnership with South Carolina Hispanic Outreach and their funding partner, the SC Chapter of the March of Dimes. PASO offers its Health Connections program in Greenwood and Saluda.
